We know it's not easy.
Let's face it- Monday's are tough. As college students, Mondays mean facing everything we have been avoiding all weekend. This Monday, we add in daylight savings which means loosing an extra hour of sleep. As much as we dread them, Monday's are crucial in setting the tone for your week. Here's our best tips on staying motivated and starting your week off right!
Tip #1 Make your bed

Making your bed is a simple and quick task that will not only make you feel better, but will also force you to be more productive. By making your bed, you are less likely to crawl back into it the second your zoom class ends (we've all done it). Having a clean room in general will allow you to focus on the work in front of you as you will have less distractions in your area.
Tip #2 Eat a big breakfast
A healthy and filling breakfast is proven to improve your energy and increase your ability to concentrate in the short term. The last thing you want on a Monday is to be hangry during your first class of the day. A trip to the dining hall or your apartment kitchen will be well worth it. Check out the link above for a recipe on how to make our favorite breakfast omelette!
Tip #3 Get moving
Getting your body moving is a great way to boost your mood on Monday's. Even if you're not a fitness guru, getting outside for a walk is guaranteed to make you feel better. The Barnes Center at the Arch is currently open for reservations of fitness floors, free weight rooms, indoor running track, the pool, and more. Tip #4 Write a to-do list

Writing to-do lists are a sure way to keep yourself on track. Breaking down your tasks for every day of the week can be helpful in knowing what to expect for each day and keeping your workload manageable throughout the week. Whether you prefer a physical planner, using the notes app on your laptop, or utilizing software such as Google calendar, planning ahead is essential to staying on track and staying productive. Pro tip: write down every menial task you can think of- the satisfaction of crossing things off your list is unmatched.
Tip #5 Reward yourself

After a long, productive Monday, it's important to reward yourself for the work you've done. Set aside an hour or so at the end of the day to do whatever it is that you enjoy- watching Netflix, reading a book, or listening to your favorite podcast. Spend this time refueling and preparing for the week ahead.
We hope these tips help you this Monday and every Monday going forward! Know that we are all in it together. Here's a motivation quote for the week!
